Mt.Tokachidake (Mt.Tokachi) 224
Temperature: minus 13 degrees Celsius at the Tokachidake Hot Springs (Tokachidake Onsen) and minus 17 degrees Celsius in the KTV (katabatic valley).
The sky was covered with clouds at the beginning. However, when doing the interval training at the summit, the clouds were dissipating. After the clouds were gone, the radiative cooling intensified. The road was covered with softly compacted snow. After the interval training at the summit, he descended up to 1090m of altitude. There, it was cold because of catabatic wind. One of headlights shut down because of a low voltage caused by this low temperature. He climbed up to the summit warming the headlight which had shut down with body heat. The headlight regained the voltage and became functional again. After repeating the interval training around the summit, he finished the training. He met a group of skiers from California and talked with them for a while. When he was going back, he saw a test car of Toyota Yaris at the foot of mountain. The last time he saw it was Mt.Tokachidake 218.
