Mt.Tokachidake (Mt.Tokachi) 220
Temperature: minus 21 degrees Celsius at the Tokachidake Hot Springs (Tokachidake Onsen).
A strong cold air mass was covering the region and the seasonal winds were strong. The snow on the road was well compacted at low altitudes but not well compacted at high altitudes. Even the half of the road was covered with snowdrifts at the high altitudes. The wheel spun from time to time because of the snowdrifts on the steep sections of the climb. The temperature was very low at the high altitudes that the brake wires became stiff as the lubricant was congealed because of the low temperature. He met a French ski guide he had known for a long time at the summit and talked with him for a while. He descended very prudently as the snow on the road was muddy. He even used the inverted Y descent technic.
