Mt.Tokachidake (Mt.Tokachi) 198
Temperature: minus 8 degrees Celsius at the Tokachidake Hot Springs (Tokachidake Onsen).
It had snowed a lot during the night. Therefore, he put off the start for a while waiting the snow-removal operation finished. The visibility wasn’t very good because of strong seasonal winds and the snowfall. The snow on the road was muddy although the snow had just been cleared. It was like a potato starch which was collapsing easily. It didn’t hold the traction. Moreover it was on the ice which was covering the asphalt surface. This combination made difficult to climb. He had to walk for about 10m to pass the steepest part of the climb. He used the inverted Y descent technic on the descent.
