Mikuni Pass 19
Temperature: minus 6 degrees Celsius at the Mikuni Pass.
There was no snow on the road at low altitudes. So he did the interval training above 900m of altitudes where the road was snow covered. North-west wind was strong. After the training at the north side of the pass, he went to the south side crossing the watershed and continued the training there, which he seldom does (he usually trains at north side only). On the south side, you can look down the Tokachi-Mitsumata Caldera of which the diameter is 10km. A crater lake had once existed here.
