Mt.Tokachidake (Mt.Tokachi) 133
Temperature: minus 4 degrees Celsius at the Tokachidake Hot Springs (Tokachidake Onsen).
We were in the middle of April. In this season, the snow is usually unstable due to strong sunshine. At first, he repeated the interval training at the summit several times. The snow on the road had been cleared but it was very muddy and heavy because of a high temperature of the road surface. During the first descent, a snowplough came and removed the snow. Therefore, it was easy to climb on the second climb. He did the interval at the end of the second ascension. He, he descended up to the Fukiage Hot Springs. The snow below the fresh snow was wet at this altitude because of the high temperature of road surface. He climbed again up to the summit. The snow height increased by 3-4cm after the second snow removal. The snow was so heavy although the snow height wasn’t so big. On the third climb, because of the heavy fresh snow, he needed much more power to climb than usual.
