Bogakudai 14
Temperature: minus 20 degrees Celsius at Bogakudai
A thin cloud layer was existing between 700-750m of latitude during the entire training. It wasn’t so cold beneath the cloud and a very faint katabatic wind was blowing. However, it was much colder above the cloud because of the radiative cooling and the katabatic wind was strong. The bottom of the radiative cooling was at 750m of altitude. Somehow the radiative cooling occurred only above this altitude, probably because of the different densities of the air. It’s very rare to experience such a phenomenon. He repeated the interval training above the cloud where the view was excellent. From time to time, the upper end of the cloud was reaching this altitude.
