Temperature: minus 23 degrees Celsius at the Asahidake Hot Springs (Asahidake Onsen)
It was minus 17 degrees Celsius at the start point. The radiative cooling was strong. Usually, under the radiative cooling, there is an inversion layer and the temperature should be higher at high altitudes. However, this day was different. Higher you got, lower the temperature was. The road between the altitude of 900 and 100m was very narrow. Because the snow on the slants of both sides had collapsed climbing over the para-avalanche fences.
