Mt.Tokachidake (Mt.Tokachi) 91
Temperature: minus 23 degrees Celsius at the Tokachidake Hot Springs (Tokachidake Onsen) and minus 28 degrees Celsius in the KTV (Katabatic Valley).
It was cold because of the radiative cooling. There was an inversion layer, so the temperature was higher at the summit than at the foot of the mountain. The katabatic winds were strong. He had to climb against the katabatic winds. Entering the katabatic valley, the equipment started to be covered with rime due to the super cold katabatic winds. After the interval training at the summit, he descended up to 1050m of altitude and climbed again up to the summit at 1280m of altitude. Diamond dust was falling from the sky. He could speed on the descent as the road surface state was good.
