Mt.Tokachidake (Mt.Tokachi) 103
Temperature: minus 20 degrees Celsius at the Tokachidake Hot Springs (Tokachidake Onsen).
The chain was making noises during the climb. At the moment where he commenced the final sprint, the chain severed and the all traction was gone. The chain couldn’t resist to the cold of the Mt.Tokachidake? He tried to connect the chain with a tool he was carrying. But he was unsuccessful because he couldn’t handle it under this super low temperature as he had to take of the gloves to handle the tool. He renounced to connect the chain and to climb up to the summit. He commenced to descent without chain. He could speed at the section where the road is steep and passed a motorcyclist. However, there lost enough momentum at the sections where the road is not so steep. He got off the bike at the end of the descent as it was impossible to continue the training without chain.
