Mt.Tokachidake (Mt.Tokachi) 101
Temperature: minus 25 degrees Celsius at the Tokachidake Hot Springs (Tokachidake Onsen) and minus 27 degrees Celsius in the KTV (katabatic valley).
It was a super-cold day. The road surface state wasn’t bad. The content of bottle was completely frozen at 750m of altitude. It was much earlier than usual. The rear derailleur cable kept repeating to be frozen due to a low temperature and super-cooled water in the air. He had to pull the cable to free the frozen part. He met a Swiss skier of French speaking part at the summit and talked for a while. They had a lot to talk about as he spent years in the French speaking Switzerland. After chatting with a Swiss skier, he commenced to descend. He had to stop once in order to recover the hands from the numbness due to super-low temperatures.
