Mt.Tokachidake (Mt.Tokachi) 84
Temperature: minus 17 degrees Celsius at the Tokachidake Hot Springs (Tokachidake Onsen) and minus 21 degrees Celsius in the KTV (katabatic valley).
The upper end of the inversion layer was situated at 400m of altitude. The snow on the road was well compacted. The climbing was effectuated against strong katabatic winds. Entering the KTV, everything was covered with soft rime but leaving the KTV, the rime was gone. He repeated the interval training many times at the summit. The descent was rapid, faster than 70km/h in the straight and around 60km/h in the corners which weren’t tight.
