Mt.Tokachidake (Mt.Tokachi) 50
Temperature: minus 9 degrees Celsius at the Tokachidake Hot Springs (Tokachidake Onsen).
There was an unexpected inversion layer. So he wore too warmly as the temperature at high altitudes was much higher than expected. It was the first time to do training here after the enforcement of restriction of entering the crater district of the Mt.Tokachidake due to volcanic activities. The road surface condition was more or less good. But the road was covered with snowdrifts at high altitudes due to strong east wind. After the interval training at the summit, he descended. He didn’t speed on the descent, he rode at less than 70km/h although the road surface was good as he wasn’t used to these new tires.
