Mt.Tokachidake (Mt.Tokachi) 19
Temperature: minus 15 degrees Celsius at the Tokachidake Hot Springs (Tokachidake Onsen).
This day, Mr.Suzuki and K, both tried a new equipment: heat pack to their feet and K tried a pair of new gloves of Burton. They worked very well. Mr.Suzuki led in the climb and K followed him with a gap of 5cm. At the steep parts, K chose big gears to climb in order to get a better traction on the not-well compacted snow. K won the sprint at the summit with 8 seconds’ gap. After the interval training at the summit, they descended. Mr.Suzuki couldn’t speed because of the both derailleurs which were frozen. K won the first part of the descent with a time gap of 11 seconds and the second part of the descent with a time gap of 57 seconds.
